Our First Day of Retirement!

This was our first day of retirement, and we stopped in Bliss, Idaho for breakfast. This was our first extended trip in our airstream. We couldn't resist the picture by the "Entering Bliss" sign.

15 minutes <--------> 2 hours.

Hi, this is my most famous sign picture/s. We stopped in Coeur D' Alene, Idaho. My wife wanted to get some take-out from a certain restuarant. I dropped her off and went through this area trying to find a parking place long enough for my Lincoln and Safari. I was very lucky to find this spot until I got out of my car and looked at the parking signs. My Lincoln, which was parked in front of the sign, was parked in a 15 minute zone. And my trailer was behind the sign putting it in a 2 hour zone. After scoping out the situation, I was able to back up to the very edge of the driveway, allowing both vehicles, [Lincoln & Safari] to be in the 2 hour zone. Notice the sign location; This was after I backed up and you can see how close I got to the driveway.

The UP in May

As we entered Michigan for a spring run through the Upper Peninsula, we were able to pull over briefly for this quick shot. We had beautiful warm, sunny weather the entire time we were in the UP...simply beautiful.

Camped under the Milky Way

Perhaps an airstream under the Milky Way qualifies for the Timeless theme?

Hey ROBERTSUNRUS, Great picture, It's a shame you didn't get a picture with the SUV on one side of the sign and the AS on the other, but I suspect you were worried about someone parking right behind you. (Other driver: "Gee, you mean you can't get that trailer out of that spot, seriously, there is like...., 2 ft. between me and you and the person in front of you???)

Yes, idmtman, it is. This the kind of "work" I would like to be doing more of......

See what happens when Airstreamers set out in search of their Bliss!

Thanks to all the entries so far. I hoped that multiple themes would help add more interest and contributions. There is so much creativity here as demonstrated by those combining several themes in their photos.

There is even one entry here that could be posted in the (Sex in an Airstream thread) Now that's creativity!

Great WORK!

The guy that has to pick the "winners" will have a difficult job!

Hi, I was actually more worried about getting a parking ticket; And since it was only a 15 minute zone, the ticket writers would be around quite often.

So... Just thinking out loud here....Do you think "The guy that has to pick the "winners".." would be willing to take an absolutely shameless bribe? Like maybe a "box" of your (I mean his) favorite $2 wine?

When the holidays roll around, the wife has a tough time of it since our parents have all passed away (apparently we're not alone in this..) so when I suggested a road trip to get away from home, she readily agreed !!

When Dec arrived, we booked off work, hitched up the Classic 34 & headed down the I-75...& three days later we arrived in Bradenton Florida where we stayed for the whole month !!

The pictures here were taken at our site in Bradenton (it was up to 80' every day in Dec..) & since this was our first experiment in part-time/full-timing, I'm glad to say that the trip back & forth was uneventful, and that the trailer was very comfortable (many many thanks to Andy & the Can-Am staff..) & we had a wonderful time.

Our decision to go south was the perfect answer to the question of "what to do for the holidays", & we're looking very forward to repeating the adventure in the years to come !!

Hi casa
I only take bribes via the PM feature here on the airforums. Being an Airstream owner I am not sure what you mean by "box" wine? If this is referring to cases then now we're talking!

$2 wine? How cheap do you think I can be bought? Don't answer that.

Huge snowflakes the day before Thanksgiving. The snow stayed on the ground, and fell for over an hour.

Our PO's. The most caring people we had met in a long time. They sure did hate to give up their baby and spent a solid 4 hours walking us thru, around, and hitching up so we would know what we were doing. They followed us to a nearby rv park and helped us hook up. We went to dinner with them. They met us for breakfast in the morning (mainly to make sure I had the steps up and had locked the door)

This is a pic of these two kind folks locking the door for the last time before they handed over the keys to us. In the shed where they stored it. What memories a picture brings back. I talked to them every day for the next two weeks, asking questions, trying to figure out things. A person could not get a better buying experience.

Airstreamers are a good breed. I will always remember their final words of advice. "Lock the door, lock the door, lock the door!"

Yes it is. Chuck, I hope you sent the PO's the "peace sign" photo to let them know the Airstream is in MANY good hands.
