I'm just relieved you didn't include this photo in FlybyNight's "Sex in an Airstream" thread

I guess I have maxed out my storage - does anyone know how to delete old photos by chance?

Waiting for restoration

!963 Globetrotter and 1948 Spartanette 24 both waiting for the work to begin. I think this was an Overlander, with hurricane panels on the windows, passed down to the grand kids who say they are going to restore for the last 3 years. From the painting on the corner the owners had made a bunch of the caravans, but had bought this one after getting back from Africa, the one they brought back was shot,so say the grand kids. About time to check again to see if I can buy. Dave

I suppose after you see the sign and think this would be a nice shot, and get the rig stopped, well, that's what you get. I actually wanted to to get a shot from the front of the trailer, but "someone - " didn't think it would be a good idea to pull into oncoming traffic for the money shot.

Signs

Here's one for the "signs" category. It's not very artistic, but I like it.

That's from the roof of the manufacturing building at Jackson Center during the first Alumapalooza, 2010. For Alumapalooza 2011 I stayed on the ground because I didn't want to spoil "neat factor" of being the first and I took a picture of all the 2011 copycats.

Yeah, I'm pretty proud of the fact that I walked up to the CEO of Airstream and asked if I could go on the roof, expecting to be denied, and got the response, "Yeah, we can do that."

3 for the "Timeless" category:
  • The Bambi in Algonquin Provincial Park, Lake of Two Rivers Camground. Algonquin is the oldest and most revered park in Ontario - at almost 120 years old it has become its own timeless icon - and Two Rivers is the oldest campground in the Park. For many Ontarians (ourselves included) this Park has a list of lifetime memories that began in early childhood.
  • A classic automobile with a classic Airstream - what else is there to say?
  • Kids and Airstreams - does it get any better?
Thanks,

Jay

1. "Timeless"
A photo with an Airstream, new or old, in a shot that evokes the timeless character of Airstream campers and travelling with them.

The quality of the photo isn't fantastic, but is fairly typical of Kodak "Brownie" Snapshots of the 1960s. This was scanned from a photo that my aunt took during a visit from our family's friends' who owned the '64 Overlander (in the background) that I now own. The photo was taken in the late fall of 1968 on my family farm . . . the Overlander was four years old and I was celebrating my ninth birthday . . . I am the one hold the pony's lead. I am sure that similar scenes take place today with Airstreaming families across the country and around the world. . . .

Kevin

Winter down here in South Texas can be pretty brutal. You just never know when you may have to stop for a "Blizzard" !
