Unless I'm looking at the wrong thing, the FE 70-200 ($1,398.00 at B&H) cost about twice as much as your initial camera and lens purchase ($598.00). I have the 55-210 and it is as good as you will ever need. We're also leaving for Alaska at the end of the month.

I have the 55-210 but use the NEX 5n. If you are interested in wildlife photography even 200mm is probably not enough. For landscape the 16-50mm will be fine. The FE 70-200mm will be heavy also, which defeats the purpose of the size of the A6000. Try testing the 55-210mm and then crop to enlarge the subject then revaluate your requirements.

Thank you for your responses. I do understand the expense of a new lens, however, I was only using the 70-200 as one example. Also I am not am displeased with the E 55-210 lens. It shoots some great photos. It just that I want the best lens for Alaska as we are takinig our grandson and expect to do some trips in Denali and also whale watching etc. along with probably a flight to the Nort Pole. So I guess I am looking for a lens that is kinda all around to include one that exceptional videos.

Again thanks for any insight

Any thoughts on this lens or other lenses for the A6000 would be greatly appreciated.
What would be the advantage of having the FE 70-200?
I'm thinking of getting the A6000 based on the positive comments in this thread.
