February Photo Contest

Holy Cow! I just logged in to the forum this morning (after a two day mourning period for the Broncos -Ut. doesn't have a pro football team, so the Broncos are the next best thing- and to my surprise, I actually won the January photo contest.

Sorry I'm late, I really consider it an honor and have admired many, many photos in this fun contest over the years.

Thank you COLONEL, for all of your work and I'm very pleased that you like my picture, there were so many great shots to like.

This is a first for me but over the years I've had this idea of what I would do if by some chance I ended up winning. It may have been done before but I don't recall seeing it.

Since it's the dead of winter for many of us, I have chosen a format that all of us could shoot, no matter what the weather is like. It's all in the details...literally.

RULES:

1. It's time to use your Macro or close up feature of your camera to capture one square foot or less (closer) of a detail on your trailer.

2. Interior or exterior.

3. Bonus points for the shot making a statement. Ex: A bullet hole, a spiders web attached to your trailer, etc.

4. And as always, your shot must contain some part or portion of an Airstream.

"Less is more" good luck,
Sheridan

Nice! I especially like the National Forest arrow head sign in the background. There's a story there.

WAIT! THERE'S MORE!

It just occurred to me that the picture I used for the January contest is the same one that I put on a 40 min. documentary I made to open last years Vintage Trailer Academy.

Several people asked to buy a copy, so I got the idea that this might be a good prize for this months winner.

It's official, this month's winner will receive one DVD of "My Vintage Airstream Experience", 40 minutes of tips, tricks, and stupid mistakes made by me during the five year process of restoring my 1965 Carvel.

Lumatic: Your photo looks like it's in motion, fits your byline "Sail on Silver girl".

truckasaurus: Interesting crystals, any chance of getting and extreme close up?
Unstated idea could be "snowflakes on your tongue"

sorry no close up, I think I took it last year before I moved somewhere that gets even worse weather! But here's another one. I think I used either my cell phone or little Canon digital elph, Shame really as I'd like to get my hands on 5 years of tips and tricks and crystals close up are cool. Still, I may have to go break out the wife's DSLR and get macro!

Just a bit of a Ho-Hum Sunrise!

This was taken on a little side trip to recoup after Canopener 2014.

You had better capture all that rain water, what with the drought situation you are in.

Interesting shots, this thread could get totally abstract if we get really close.

waltb; Like the rain drops on the "Cloud".

safari62; A warm and cozy read.

ROBERSUNRUS; Nice ice. Remember, the one square foot rule (I guess cropping the shot would work).

Princess Stove Grate

Sheridan,
Good February topic. I thought I would use this as a way to look for a cast iron stove grate for my 1958 Airstream. You can see it meets your 1 square foot criteria. Anyone have one they can spare???? Thanks
Dick

Thanks Sheridan. The photo was taken on top of our original counter in the Flying Cloud.
