February 2013 Photo Contest - Before and After

Greetings Airstreamers, and welcome to this month's photo contest - Before and After.
Contest Rules:
1. Each entry must include two photos of the same Airstream; one before and one after restoration and/or renovation.
2. The contest entrant must be the photographer, but not necessarily the owner of the Airstream.
3. Photos may interior or exterior shots.
4. Photos will be judged on how well they capture the enormity of the challenge and the unbelievability of the outcome. ( As in, "I cain't believe that's the same trailer house.")

Good luck to you all!

Before/After Combo

Thought I would include my work on both the TV and the Trailer. I combined the photos so they are just one image each. Hope that's o.k. I would have included a before on our canoe but I'm not done with the after yet, lol.

Great topic, even greater start. It is nothing short of amazing what lengths folks will go to keep these tin cans out of the recycle bin.

Thanks for setting this up Ken.

Rule 5

5. For those with newer Airstreams (it's not a trailer, it's an Airstream), the "before" may show the right-off-the-lot, factory interior - the "after" may show how the entrant has personalized it with his or her own decor touches.

"2005 Safari remodel"

Hi, this is my living room remodel. The first three pictures are of the original factory set-up and the second three pictures are in the same order of the interior view.

(1.) Street side Credenza. [original]

(2.) Front end Gaucho. [original]

(3.) View of Magazine Rack by entrance door.[original] Magazine Rack is still in the same place.

(4.) Gaucho rebuilt and moved to street side where Credenza was.

(5.) Home made, front mounted, Credenza where Gaucho was. Re-used fold out Table.

(6.) Home made Love seat. Also has storage underneath it.

We had to gut the bathroom to deal with rear end separation and floor rot.

The new vanity is much nicer to look at from the other end of the Airstream. The flamingo design below the sink lights up to act as a night light.

We had fun doing it, and learned a lot as we went.
