My 1976 31" Sovereign Kitchen remodel

Why Airstream went to fake wood in the 70's model trailers is a mystery to me. Here is my kitchen remodel of my 1976 31' Sovereign.

The introduction of the fake wood you describe seems to coincide with the "Beatrice Food" years. Beatrice Foods rescued Airstream when they were about to go under, and tried many new innovations to cut costs and make the trailers lighter.
Purists like to pooh pooh the BF years, but they seem to forget (or ignore) that Beatrice (a) kept Airstream alive, and (b) introduced many useful innovations.

Gray water holding tanks were introduced during the BF years for example as were the Vista View windows, if I'm not mistaken.
I'm hoping 47WeeWind will weigh in with more information about the BF years.

'59 Airstream Tradewind 24'

We got our '59 Tradewind 24' in November. This is our first trailer. Lots of hard work and learning gave us something we love and enjoy.

Final Week of the February Photo Contest-Before and After

At midnight tonight, you will have only seven days remaining to submit your entry! Remember, your photos will be judged on how well they capture the enormity of your renovation and/or restoration challenge and the unbelievability of your outcome.
