December 2008 photo contest

The photo contest threads have long been one of my favorite reasons to visit AirForums. For me, the photo contest threads bring this online Airstream community to life beyond words through the sharing of personal photos. The photo threads inspired me to upgrade my camera set up this year to a digital SLR. Earning the November prize was confirmation that the investment in better gear was a good one as I've taken hundreds more photos this year.

The photo theme for December is -- Reflections. With aluminum being so reflective and it being the last month in the year, the loose theme will hopefully generate a wide variety of creative images.

Let the December game begin...

Darn, I was so close to winning.

Thanks Frank for hosting a great contest, you had quite a tough one to judge. Probably the toughest one yet. Great category.

Now for December. Here are my entries. First photo caught my eye while camping over Memorial Day a few years back. The second one is from this past year's 4CU New Year's rally at Picacho Peak State Park.

Creating reflections and so on and so on...

While reflecting upon what to enter in the December contest I decided to go digging for some vintage photos and ran across this first. There is a teeny tiny part of a non-reflective C-Stream in the corner background of this picture. However you said the theme was loose...so...here goes...work with me here.

This is a reflective image of the camera mirrors, of a veteran Airstreamer reflecting on her past travels, showing her collection of reflected images of the places she has traveled to. In particular, the rainbow photograph is reflecting and refracting light over the landscape. But wait there's more...

you can also see the reflection in her eye glasses as we sit and reflect upon her words and pictures. So, by my count that is reflections to the nth degree???

OK, ok, I am off to dig deeper for physical Airstream reflections and reflect upon that for awhile.

I've entered this one before for the sunrise/sunset theme, but it has reflections and I really like it, so what the heck...

It was taken in my driveway just a few days after I bought it.
