Camera Apps for Android Phones

I am looking for input on good photo apps for an android phone. It would be nice if you have actually used them and could provide some feedback. My goal is to improve the photos I take on my Droid Turbo which has a good camera with some editing capabilities. I have heard great recommendations for Camera + App which is for I Phones only at this time. I would like to frame my photos and caption them (yes, similar to Flying Gypsies whose photos I admire) for use with emails or holiday cards. I have been reviewing photo apps in app store and online but don't often get consistent good reviews. While free is good I'm willing to pay for an app. Not being very technology advanced I'm looking for a user friendly app that does not want excessive access to my phone contents and this is the only social media I use. Thanks in advance for your tips.

I have been using HDR Camera on my Android for about two years now. It has a resolution adjustment feature that does a great job in low light situations. I have found that it does a particularly nice job on beach-side sunsets.

I used the free version for about a year, and then went to the HDR Camera + for $1.99 to get the zoom feature.

Don't limit yourself to camera apps, by the way. You may find an app that can apply the frame and caption info you want to the photo after it's taken, rather than getting an app that controls the camera fully. I've had mixed results in using apps that run the camera but are not specifically tailored to the device camera.

Photo Editor Pro is an ad-supported app (thus free but with ads) that can add frames and text and filters, etc. after you've taken a picture.

So although I am not new to my smart phone I confess to mostly using it as a phone, google searching and now for some photo's. Only apps I have added is a level bubble, flashlight, Air Forums. So for those of you who are familiar with Apps is it common for the apps to need your info, numbers, and various permissions to access.

The list of permissions apps ask for is sometimes daunting, yes. The only one that particular app "needs" that I wonder about is "read phone status and identity" which is a common one that apps ask for. The network access part seems questionable, but then I remembered that it's ad-supported so it's using your network access to download ads to display while you're using the app.
