It is really nice. We have a 22ft and it was a little tricky getting into this spot but there are lots of sites with easier access.

Rio Costilla Park is pretty, but $20 a day seems like robbery. We scouted the region last month for boondock sites further up in Valle Vidal and found nothing possible in the upper reaches of that watershed... Valle Vidal is New Mexico's answer to Lamar Valley. Cabresto Canyon to the south of Rio Costilla has possible boondocking sites, but would need scouting to verify road condition/site access due to the heavy rains this year.

You are right, $20 is normally steep for dry camping but $80 for 4 full days at a beautiful riverside camp with very little traffic in the area is worth it to me. The fee might be one of the reasons there not many people camp there.

I hear ya... - that's a sound argument within context, and the perception of value has more to do with what one's camping background is. I previously was (and am) an avid wilderness backpacker w/ mountaineering experience, so I'm wired to avoid anything called a "campground", and we setup our Airstream for boondocking, hence my prejudice. That said, I'm embracing the idea of some campgrounds for future cross country trips we're planning, so!
Rio Costilla is gorgeous, and your photo captivating!

Hey TC, I'm not on the forum everyday so, sorry I didn't respond quicker it was shot with my iPhone 5s. Not bad. I mostly shoot with a Canon 6D but, was too lazy to set up the tripod for a pano. Thanks for the compliment.

The FaN is my driveway woman cave. I am lost in it spring, summer, fall and winter.
This trailer has less than 1,500 miles on it. However, I have spent thousands of hours here reading, working, thinking, daydreaming, sleeping, and just hanging-out amidst some whacky stuff, lovingly collected.
Another summer morning......

Campsite was at 7500 feet, nice and cool for July, 2015.

Lots of great photos this month.
Our own won't win any contests but when we want to get absolutely "lost" there is immediately one place that comes to mind - it is Neys Provincial Park in Northwestern Ontario.
Neys is about a 6 hour drive from home and it would be a rare year that we don't try to get there for at least a few days.
The Park is a former home to POW's during the Second World War - a place that did not need fences - a place that was lost in the wilderness of Northwestern Ontario .....
It is today a place where even the electronic signals of a cross-country network of cell towers does not easily reach - when you camp there you are lost to anyone from the outside world ......
It is also a place (on the shoreline of Lake Superior) where you are lost to summer heat waves - while the rest of the continent is sweating you can enjoy marvelously cool (even cold) temperatures exploring an incredible beach ......
No question - Neys will always be one of our favourite places to become lost ......
If you'd care to explore for yourself then check out:
Welcome to Neys Provincial Park
Thanks,
Jay
