mbnroberts: kayaking is great fun, did a little kayaking last week in the Bend/Sisters OR area. Nothing dramatic just a little calm water alpine lake paddle, no rapids just a stiff breeze. It was still fun and really relaxing to glide along and just take in the mountain view.

By the way, how do you air out the other foot

Okay ladies and gentlemen, we are down to the last few days, so if you have been holding out with your entry in order to leave a last minute impression on me, now is your time to submit your photo.

You have posted some good photos again this month, and as usual it will be hard to pick an overall winner. In just a few more days I can pass the baton to the winner and enjoy next month's theme once it has been announced.

Both the kayaks are sea kayaks and built for exactly the type of paddle you mentioned. No white water, no falls, just long paddle trips for relaxation and/or exercise.

I only get to air out one foot. The right has too many duties whilest the left is useless. Plus it helps with swelling after surgery on Monday. Cheers.

Thanks Dennis. I usually travel with two, a 10" 5/5 collapsible dobsonian by a company called Teleport, and a 90mm f/5 Refractor /spotting scope by Astro-Physics. The latter gets more daytime use, the former gets more night use. Best, Joe

mbnroberts: thanks for the reply on the kayaks, and hopefully that cool air on the foot/ankle facilitated in the healing after your surgery. I'm glad to see that it didn't keep you out from behind the wheel and enjoying your AS.

urnmor: very nice sunrise photo, the wildfires here in WA have given us some beautiful sunsets as well.

GAT: your AS is gorgeous, and what better place to be than on the road with it, unless perhaps its being at the AS Park in your basement

jayseejay: thanks for the response on your telescopes. I usually carry my Celestron Travel 70 as it packs nicely and doesn't take up a lot of room in the AS.

tsunami: I love the contrast, color and hue of the sky, the lights and the shoreline.

The yellow GoldWing in the garage and the Airstream out front (before solar conversion). Two great ways to see the USA.

Airstream and "Cool" places....

Well, I love to eat...and go to beautiful places and see new things....and sometimes I even blog about them. Here we are at the Oregon Caves Chateau with our Airstream. Great food, wonderful service, interesting caves, and one gets there on a road with a sign that says "trailers not advised"!

GAT,
'Love your diorama for the train set! It's very creative. I enjoyed your inclusion of the outhouse but really caught my eye was the '55 Chevy Nomad.
I have one in my garage & it's original colors are turquois & ivory (just like your model). Although I seldom use it to pull the Airstream, there was a time (in the 80's & 90's) when it was my only tow vehicle.
Cool hobby/Airstream photo!

Tough decisions....

Yes, it's tough to decide which car to pull with. Of course the convertible is our top choice for a casual destination but the Olds can pack much camping supplies in it's cavernous trunk , that I refer to as our 'spare' room. We have used the Olds this year because the convertible is awaiting an engine transplant.

Switz: Goldwing's are nice, but not so easy to sleep in, cook, shower, etc.

CaddyGrn: Oregon Caves Chateau looks nice, looks like you had to hike a little way to get that photo.

MarkE: one of my good friends in our car club has a 55 nomad and he has been trying to find a model to paint in the same color scheme as his wagon.

FreshAir: choices, choices; at least they are both GM and have 455 cubes. Do you need FreshAir on the trip, or more luggage room

This is my last reminder/prompt for photos for this month's contest. Those of you in Eastern time zone in the U.S. are running out of time, those of you on the West coast have a few more hours to get them in.

Thanks again for all who have entered photos and made comments, you are who make this forum a fun place to visit.

docster: did you get your awning part yet?

LAWBC: 10 days - you must have enjoyed it, and I too am wondering where the photo was taken, you seem to be in a world all your own as there isn't anything or anyone else around.
