Hi, as old as I am, I have never had one of those; Do I need to put that on my Bucket List?

Lookit the Balloons!!

Seems almost too easy, to combine Airstreams at Albuquerque Fiesta with morning launch.. This was first event hosted by Ken of 4CU in 2007, and wind made it unnecessary to hike down to launch field to see balloons as they passed noisily overhead...

It should be at the top of the list. I find if you get the jumbo marshmallows you can then put the chocolate in the marshmallow and it melts perfect.

Like Bob, as much as I've camped I've never had a s'more. Gotta try that, soon. Thanks Jason for all the calories .

May I suggest an addition to your kind offer of S'mores?
How about Cajun home made shrimp (or gator) gumbo?? I'll provide the shrimp, tomatoes, okra, & rice. You get the honor of creating the all important rouh (sp?). I'll even bring the dutch oven for good measure.
THEN we can enjoy your S'mores, for 'afters'?

If Texas wasn't so dang big......I'll still invite you guys to Ruston this October for the rally (shameless plug)

My wife is rolling her eyes as I volunteer her gumbo for dinner, although we haven't made gator gumbo yet. Sounds good, though.

My son and I at least will be at the Piney Woods rally in November, but I don't make near as good gumbo as she. The S'mores I can handle easily.

I'm working on attending the Piney Woods rally & look forward to meeting you & your son there. What ingredients in your S'mores can I gladly supply?

One commonly missed ingredient in a perfect s'more is peanut butter. Bottom to top: graham cracker, peanut butter, Hershey's chocolate (two squares), hot slightly browned marshmallow, and another graham cracker. Some would say it's better than sex.

I have a theory....peanut butter, chocolate, or cheese will go on almost anything and make it better. I also haven't tried the cinnamon dusted graham crackers, heard those are a must try.

The ingredients are simple and not all that expensive, the hardest part is not forgetting they're in the camper when is parked in the driveway. It kind of makes it hard to work with when the marshmallows are melted together...

Here's another photo for the contest. We found the flag my mother sewed for tailgating whenever I went to college. Back then there weren't any available so she made her own. I have to support my alma mater!

Some pretty neat pictures this month - lots of vibrant colours and creative picture taking!

I guess we're pretty much earthy folks - and most of our stuff seems to be standard scenery, sunsets and fall colours ...... with a ton of pictures of the dog (but she is black and white .....)

So here we go ..... without the dog ......
  • 2005 - Glacier NP, Montana
  • 2006 - Terrace Bay, Ontario
  • 2008 - Sam's Town, Las Vegas, Nevada
  • 2010 - South of Riding Mtn. NP, Manitoba
  • 2011 - Signpost Forest, Watson Lake, Yukon
  • 2011 - Chicken, Alaska
  • 2011 - Diamond Gerties Saloon, Dawson City, Yukon
Thanks,

Jay

I've always loved this photo from Fort Desoto a few years back. It has more to do with coloring than color, but I guess that is still color.
