All lit up at South Llano SP!!

Here's the wife's pic of the A/S all lit up at the SP from our trip back from California...

If you look closely on the second pic, you can see the "Rambling Road" (Red Car and Bambi A/S) party lights on the awning reflected on the body's skin...

Here's a "sighting" not a photo entry

I'm still pretty new to the forums. Maybe there's a "sightings" page for Airstreams in unusual situations, or unusual Airstreams and I just haven't found it. So, here's a picture I took along the Florida coast around Panama City. Parts of the coast in that area are still recovering from Hurricane Ivan in '04. (Don’t get me started on what we saw from Katrina) I saw this Bambi parked at a camp for a debris clean-up crew. I couldn't get a good angle to get Bambi and the flag flapping. Still, I thought it was pretty neat. By the looks of his rig, it looks like this guy packs Bambi and his front end loader on a gooseneck flat bed and tows the flatbedit behind a huge dually pick-up.

Fall Campsite

Here's my entry for this month. Fall trout fishing camp site in the White Mountains of Arizona. In this particular shot, we're camped at Hawley Lake and take in a number of different fishing spots from this campsite. The fall colors are great up here. They just don't show in this picture.

Leaving Cherry Blossom Rally

One of my favorite photos from the Cherry Blossom Rally.
I shot this from my mirror just as we turned to go to RT 301.

wow, some awesome shots this month

Rodney and Kevin, great photos! Kevin, nice work actually capturing the shape of the ramblin' road lights in the aluminum. Tripod?

A-Merry-can, love the nameplate shot. Great eye.

still waters

Ya know, 2airishuman. I find your "beside still waters" photo absolutely fascinating. I think I've been there or somewhere very similar. Dejavu? It's the kind of spot only avid fishermen might truly appreciate. You know there's a trophy bass lurking under one of those stumps and all you need to do is make that perfect cast to hook your prize and reel it into your net withour getting snagged. Over many years of professional angling I have developed a technique for fishing waters like this. Some compare my casting skills to an old lady swatting bees with a broomstick, but I occasionaly manage to make that perfect cast wherein my lure or fly bounces off a tree and into exactly the right spot where any fish in his right mind could not resist it.
The problem is that most fish are smarter than myself and won't try to eat an artificial morsel with a hook and line attached to it. Those who would try to become expert anglers like myself need to learn the two basics of successful fishing....patience and pain tolerance. The patience of course lies in waiting for a fish to bite your hook while the pain tolerance lies in removing a hook from your ear without crying.
Fishing spots like the one you depicted ain't for crybabies!

hi rog

yep it's a local fishing spot.....click to open the image....then 'zoom in' one time....

there is a lenght of monofilament line and lure wrapped on the stump....
fish love baiting the weak into this trap....
rocks can be seen below the surface too...
in the distant upper left side....
the ripple of a fish that just surfaced....
offers temptation.

i'll post other shots of this locale....
last week i was camped
within 25 feet of waters edge.

cheers

I think that's my line and lure! The key question here is did you fish that site? It's definetly a spot not for the faint-of-heart fishermam. It's worthy of note here that lying is a perfectly acceptable practice amongst fisherpeople and an integral part of the sport. How huge was your fish?
Use caution in answering, mine was bigger than yours.

2air and Rog ~

There is also something dippling the surface just to the left of a couple trees, they look like antlers. Obviously Rog won't be able to cast that far if his line and lure are stuck on the stump in the foreground.

2air, this is a great picture. Similar to Escher's Three Worlds.

No, I made the ripples with my snorkle while trying to retrieve my $7.95 lure.

In the spring, a young man's fancy lightly turns to thoughts of

Camping!
Twenty years ago, our house was built on a one acre plot on the steep side of a river valley. The whole plot was covered with thorn bushes. We had a vision of springtime with a mass of bulbs flowering under budding deciduous trees, with a path zig-zagging down towards the river. We cleared the land by hand, planted hundreds of trees and thousands of bulbs, and have spent much of the past 20 years hand-weeding and nurturing the plants. I think, just this year, our vision is complete.
Nick.
