Owner of #8056

The Vintageairstream website has some photos of 56 Flying Clouds, and the photos of #8056 (http://vintageairstream.com/archives1/56FC/1956FC_8056/index.html (particularly http://vintageairstream.com/archives1/56FC/1956FC_8056/slides/a68a_3.JPG)) show a nice wet bath. I would like to communiate with the owner about the layout of the bath. Is the owner among us or does anyone know who owns #8056?

Thanks, Hank

That is a nice wet bath and I can see someone has done a nice job of updating it. I love all of the exposed aluminum. Looks like a new ceramic commode with the original sink and updated plumbing fixtures. Can't tell what else has been done. Here's a pic from the link.

Unfortunately, the number 8056 is not listed in the 2009 WBCCI Membership Directory.

Wet bath

I think that the material may be stainless steel, rather than aluminum.

I don't think it matters much, but that unit is really serial number 8054. If you look at all the pictures the one with the number is definately not 8056. I still have no clue who owns it, but it sure is one sharp unit.

Greg, thanks for pointing out that it is #8054. Does anyone know anything about the owner of #8054?

Thats one beautiful bath setup. The first thing I decided when I brought my 56 F/C home was that the bath is WAY TO SMALL. How anybody used a 24"square shower is beyond me. Then again, I'm 6'4" and need more room. After I finish replacing the floor, I'll have to start on holding tank locations etc. Mine had the dinnet across from the bath on the curb side. My wife says," that won't be the new floor plan". For some reason she doesn't want to have breakfast that close to the bathroom:-)

8054 is not a WBCCI number. In your link in the upper left corner, there are some VIN samples and 8054 fits within the range for California-produced '56 Flying Clouds. The 8054 is also visible in the Airstream badge photo. That's usually the way the vintageairstream.com site identifies specific trailers.

The bathroom side walls and the sink stand all look like aluminum to me. SS would be way too heavy IMO. The hand shower makes this look like this was designed as a wet bath. Wonder if they added a gray tank? ...which no Airstream had until sometime through the '73 model year.

Email RJ Dial, the webmaster for that site, and see if he has any ownership information.

Thanks, Hank
