I just purchased an Airstream. Not really sure which year, which
model it is. Only know that it's an 22 footer.
Will take it to restoration soon but I need to identify it's model first. My guestimation is that it's an Overlander 58. So need your kind advice on its model, if you guys can help me.
I also know that it use to belong to an Airbase in Northern part of Thailand. Probably own by some Airforce officer during Vietnam war.
Now it sit right in U-Tapao Naval Air Station near Pattaya, Thailand, waiting for Aluminum fablication works on some panels.
Thanks in advance,
Welcome to the forums. A 1958 22 foot trailer would probably be a Flying Cloud. An Overlander would be 26 feet long, and should have two axles. Photos and serial number would help a lot for identification.
Meddle not in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy, and taste good with ketchup.
Welcome to Airforums Sean! That is quite a project, but will be wonderful when you have it redone. The last photo you have posted has the important numbers for identification. Someone here will tell you what it is, where it was manufactured and when. :-)
Thanks for sharing your photos and we look forward to watching the transformation into a beatiful trailer.
I will need all the help I can get from this forum. I decided to purchase this Airstream the moment I saw it. Didn't take much time to negotiate the price as it always my dream to own this distinctive camper. Then later on I sigh as I realize how much work I have to do. However the feeling and trust that it would be in a better shape day by day, than it's original state, keep me going.
I really appreciated
Now I have an idea how to refurbish it, especially the lower skirt and wheel
arc. that missing.
Still looks like it's quite hard to find exactly the same model, that look identical (same window style, same service hatch etc... Maybe this is because they have 2 Airstream factories, or maybe they offer custom made from each order , I presume.
I will also look up to Bird Air as well, thanks Melody
Thanks all for your kind help
I reluctant to move to Flying Cloud forum as I've been touched by all your kindness. But I know that it should be in its right forum. Anyway I will inform you guys once I have update pictures on my Airstream.
