Another '56 question...

Hi again,

I found out the tail lights are shot so I was trying to find replacement bulbs but everywhere I go the small "nubs" on the sides are offset where the originals are straight across. If anyone knows where to pick up (or order) the replacements please let me know.

Mike

They are available at any auto parts store.

I've gone to Advance Auto & Auto Zone and neither had the larger double filament/double contact ones. I did get the smaller running lights(?) though.

They should be an 1157 double filament with two contacts. I would replace the pigtail for the light as well.

thanks for the info, I have 1157 & will try them but I was told that the nubs on the casing had to be exact and not staggered like the 1157.

The 1157 is staggered but the 1156 is not. 1156 is available in any auto parts store. The tail lights in the 56 are single filament (1156).
