The leaf springs are at the steel recycler. We've got a torsion type axle on order. (Ryan knows the exact details.)

Ryan is planning on replacing one or two outriggers, if I remember right. He order material for that today. Overall, the frame looks good.

Wink Looking for a water filler cover...

I am looking for a water filler cover. A PO had removed the water filler and riveted a patch over the hole in the skin. Do you have one of these you'd be willing to part with? Or know someone who does?

Any help is appreciated,

Ryan.

To keep that vintage look you really need one of those. Wish I had one, I'd send it your way. Your restoration is progressing right along.

Ryan, I've got one on my Caravanner and I'm not planning to reuse it as I'm going to put the fresh tank in the frame. Got two caps, one with a faucet mounted on it and the other just the normal screw on fill cap.

PM me and I'll get it in the mail to ya.

cheers,
steve

Hey Ryan,
I got my Airstream polished by Jim over at the Hood. I'm very pleased with the work. He's nice, experienced and reasonable with his price.

Here is his email address - FlatHeadChief348@aol.com

Take Care,
Karen

Friday is for getting ready ...

...to work on the trailer. Ryan hasn't blogged in a bit, and has photos on his camera from last weekend... and I know there are a few of you curious about our progress.

Last weekend we were able to finish the belly pan and get the shell lowered back on to the frame. Its currently Kleeco'd in place and we're waiting for assistants to arrive on Saturday (aka my dad, davenpow, and brother, WilsonTami) so that the riveting can begin.

We're hoping to complete the riveting of frame to shell as well as replace the two shell pieces in front. Aluminum sheet is at the ready.

Here's a photo from last Sat night as we were lowering the shell.

Wish us luck!

Katie

Good luck Katie, I've been wondering how you all were doing. I love observing your work, so I've missed the updates the past couple of weeks.
