While checking out battery terminals today...

I discovered what appears to be a severed wire on one of the electrical devices.

Might be that cutting the wire is a particular setting. Have an email in to dealer to get some clarity.

Cancel the investigation...

This wire gets snipped when AGM batteries are installed in the system.

Never mind.

So, I just installed new AGM batteries. Do I snip the wire? What’s it for?

The Atkinson solar controller is pretty well accepted to be lousy. Get yourself a programmable mppt Victron 100/30 or 75/15 with built in bluetooth. Then you can use the load out connection on the new controller to re-purpose the cat5 wire that runs to the beautiful milled-aluminum Sunexplorer display and replace it with this to gain a couple of usb charge outlets.
