Have not seen the new one yet and have also wondered about the Windows.

The side and rear door both come with screens. On the rear door it rolls down and snaps in place. The side door is a slide screen. Both side windows vent. Along with the fan I see lots of options for ventilation.

Seems Aistream has answered many of the issues (complaints) of the original Basecamp. They are as expected Airstream premium priced in my opinion. Now let us wait and see how well they sell compared to the Basecamp I and the forthcoming Nest.

That must be quite a shock when you do open the drain plug and get hit by the noxious odors. I guess the lack of a J trap saves space underneath. This implies there is one tank, not separate black and grey tanks. What is the tank capacity?

That's got to be a mistake. I think it is against some sort of code to have sewer gas go into trailer. There has to be some trap somewhere, no? That alone would be a deal killer for me.

There IS a p-trap in the bathroom drain, as Patrick notes at about 6:45 of the Colonial walk-through video. The drain plug is "so the p-trap water does not siphon out when towing." The black and gray tank is combined and has a 29 gallon capacity. Fresh water capacity is 22 gallons - all per Patrick in the video. Joe

It looks really cool. Any word on an audio system option?

No audio system other than a Bose wireless Bluetooth speaker you could've bought yourself.

In the latest basecamp pics on airstream's website there appears to be a second window on the rear hatch door. However, none of the videos from airstream or from Hershey show a second hatch!

I wonder if you're looking at the license-plate holder (that's shown without a plate on Airstream's page, so it just looks black like the tinted window.)

I want to see the option list, not just what dealers are ordering.

Thank you for correcting. When I'd seen it the first time I'd thought he'd said there wasn't one, re-watching it now, thankfully there is.
I wonder how shallow the system is to maintain ground clearance as much as possible?

It seems interesting that the ONE trailer they design for off-road use doesn't have rock guards and has unprotected tempered glass windows. I wonder how off-road some will be willing try with it.

According to the on line list the only options are the tents. I would suppose the dealers have order sheets that people curious can view for other available options.
