Using tank heaters while towing

Hi, new to forums so please excuse any gaffes. Have a 2018 basecamp and am wanting to travel in cold weather. I understand the furnace/water heater supplies heat to fresh and waste tanks to keep from freezing. The basecamp also has a 12v tank heater. I donít want to use propane while towing and am wondering if there is any reason the 12v tank heater canít be used while towing. I imagine the tow vehicle would keep the battery charged. Thanks for the help

The tank heater pads are likely good for about 10 degrees of protection. If your TV is supplying 12V to the Basecamp (some do / some don't) there is no reason not to run the heater pads while towing. If there is no 12V from the TV then it's a good way to kill your battery on a long drive.

The risk here is that the tanks really are not as big a deal freeze wise as the faucets and drains. (= faucets are small and freeze quick, tanks are big and freeze slowly). You also want to be sure that the inside of the trailer stays warm(ish) while you are running down the road.
