Happy Trails

Hi Betty, You will have such a great time in your new Basecamp. Get
ready for a lot of "lookie loos" we have a Quicksilver Bambi and give
"tours" wherever we stop. Our TV is a Ford F 250 with a V10 engine and folks always
teasing John about having enough power to pull Bambi. Y'all will love Co.
be sure and check out Stagecoach State Park in Steamboat and give us
a call we are just five miles away. Happy Trails, John & Betty PS You need
to come to Idaho as well we have gorgeous country.

Welcome, Betty. Love the Basecamp! It is so cute. The Highlander should handle 2500#'s, but also check the tongue weight. It shouldn't be a problem either, but please check all the weight limitations. A weight equalizer and anti-sway device may be nice for your smaller Toyota with the base camp, also. Enjoy it and send pics.
Rgds,
ScottW

Betty,

That's really a cute little trailer. Did you happen to see the Basecamp on the huge billboard on Hennepin Ave, near Franklin?

I expect there will be lots of Basecamps in Minneapolis. Maybe you could start a Basecamp club!

I've moved this thread into the newest forum...Base Camp. Now there is a place for you and all additional BC folks to post the unique issues and discoveries of this newest little model. Post more pictures when you can!

Congratulations...hopefully you will get lots of enjoyment from your new toy! I saw one at the International Rally in Salem...they are very cool! New market...can't wait to meet some folks that own them. Welcome aboard!

Guess where I'm going right now!

Someone told me this past Sunday they saw a TV ad, and the week before it was reported that there was a news story about the Airstream 75th Anniversary and the Airstream only park in, I think, Clear Lake MN. Looks like the Airstream marketing department is starting up.

I chose "ABC004" to stands for Airstream BaseCamp #4. The dealer told me that Aveda Corp bought #1, and that a Colorado company had ordered one from them. I don't know if that sale was finalized, but #5 was still on the showroom floor a week ago. (Shorewood RV) I definitely want to make contact with other owners and see our sub-club grow.

I'm new to forums, too, so I ask your patience for pics. Most of mine are large files, and I think I have to work on that.

Thanks, Shari, for setting up the BC forum.

I can tell that my life will henceforth be BBC and ABC (Before, and After BaseCamp.) And happily, so!

You should also be able to add "Base Camp" to your profile that shows up under your name on the left. Go to 'UserCP' and follow the prompts.

Hopefully you won't be alone on here for long ~

Welcome, Betty and BaseCamp! (Will you give it a name soon?) Could that have been you with your BaseCamp that we passed in mid-September going East on I-70 in Western Kansas?? Probably not, but these units surely do catch the eye on the road! Hope we see you sometime in Minnesota, camping! ~G

No, it wasn't me. I just took possession about a week ago since it took awhile to prepare a place for it and find someone to pull it. I had to build a new fence with a big double gate. It's parked in my back yard, looking like an alien ship! I don't think I'll ever get tired looking at it--it was love at first sight!

Regarding a name. Hmmm. Maybe "Barbara" after Barbara Washburn, first woman to summit Denali. Or, Sir Hillary.

What do you all think?
Betty and "Barbara"
or
Betty and "Sir Hillary"

Given those 2 choices, I vote "Sir Hillary".

Hi, Betty,

Your BaseCamp is cute, and so are you smiling like that and pointing at the nameplate. I hope that precise feeling follows you, and I think this photo is a keeper. Congratulations.

Cool Basecamp!

Congrats on your adorable trailer!

I had no idea the Basecamp was so tall.... I have only seen photos/images. I agree please post pictures of inside and at a campsite!

Here is a photo of my "vintage basecamp" (actually a 1946 Kit Teardrop)
We took our "vintage basecamp" to our first Forum Rally because our Airstream was disassembled..... but they let us hide in the dark corners.
