Just to update you all that this was going to prove fruitful.
Here is a list of the mods that I am working on and will update when finished...
Sidetable/ foot extender mod for the Benches.
This allows for people to sleep down the sides of the BC.
Table between the benches... this is removable and unique design...
Canopy popup that fits the back of the BC to replace the tent and give more
room and ease of setup.
On demand propane fired shower.
Led Light mods that are more efficient than using the overheads.
Slip covers for the bench backpads with unique insignias.
Dessicant can for humidity control. Rechargeable.
Two coolers that support bench extensions.
Hydraulic lifters for the back doors.

Here are a few of the mods that I have done to date.
Table from a no parking sign.
The tripod feet are removeable and so is the post.
You can use the table outside and it packs for storage easier.
Extensions as side tables or feet so that you can sleep down the sides of the BC.

More coming,
Bizcamp

The side table/foot extensions are just sheet aluminum with a one inch bend that slides
under the cushions when not in use.

Ocracoke Bizcamp

Spingbreak trip in May to Ocracoke NC.
The locals loved the Alien behind the Ridgeline.
The shelter came in handy when the storm hit Thursday nite.
40Mph winds and driving rain and sand.
No problem for the travelers.
Love this thing!

Did you ever get around to doing the hydraulic lifters for the back doors? I have a system of pulleys which makes life a lot easier.

Pics from the Spring Break trip with the Basecamp.

Here are some pics from the trip.
This is probably the most remote campsite on the eastcoast.
The wind is pretty constant and the surfcasting is excellent.
Enjoy!

Bob,
Not yet but I'm still going to try the lifts.
I like your Idea for its simplicity.

OCnNC!
The Campground is on Recreation.gov.
It is the only National Campground on the island.
It is perfectly situated at the halfway point and there is only miles of beach between you and the few touristas in OC proper.
It has cold showers so I would suggest bringing a Solar bag for showers.
Generators are permitted during certain hours.
Use Google Earth to scope the sites, then call the campground during hours to get the best sites. The sites that back up to the dunes are the best. You have some wind protection, best access to the beach.
Enjoy!

Biz Campin!

I guess it's natural not to make too many "hard wired" mods to a trailer when it's new. Now that our Base Camp is a couple of years old, I'm going to build a table for the trailer using 2 of these legs from Vintage Trailer Supply. I just have to decide what height legs to order. My gut says go with the 28.5" poles, but I want to make some measurements first. I'm going to make the table from 5/4 glued up stock. The table will be the same length as the benches and wide enough to be comfortable for both eating and using laptops.

I'll post pix when I have it built.

This is my solution to the BaseCamp table requirement. The base is from a stand that came with a set of rollers, that I used for something else. The top is a 19mm thick version of the same material, color, finish that the storage and sink tops are made from. It's been milled to 650mm diameter and fits neatly into the galley walk in recess for travel.

Cheers,

Rod

This is the front glass protection solution. Outer layer is black heavy waterproof canvas, next is a 3mm high impact closed foam layer used in the production of motorcycle racing back protectors. Inner layer is gray heavy duty canvas and the pop clips are stainless steel. I will fit some tonneau cover elastic loops and hooks at the corners just for a little double security. The impossibility of replacing the original glass readily in Australia made this the most important mod I could do.

Cheers,

Rod
