Base camp not in use for three weeks - thinks to do for humidity management?

Hello! We will not use the bc for three weeks. For humidity management, anything we should do? Airstream documents mentionned we should let a fan or a window open? What do you do? Thanks again 😊

Leave a couple of windows open.

Leaving windows open is the last thing I’d do in humid Georgia, so I guess that is regional. We use a couple of containers of Damp Rid in the camper when it is in storage to adsorb moisture. I also prop the refrigerator and freezer door open to discourage mold.

Will you have shore power?

These 110-volt Dampp Chasers are low-wattage devices originally made to keep pianos dry, and they work great. We have a 36" unit under our bed, and a shorter one in the bath.

Ditto to propping open the fridge and freezer doors, and leaving a window or two cracked if you are in Ottawa.

Cheers,

Peter

Dry Wave 1000

I keep one of these plugged in on my stove during storage, and open my bathroom vent. So far zero issues; keeps the internal temp just above the dewpoint in the trailer. I also use this on my boat and they work fantastic. Good luck!

I have the opposite problem. Delamination caused by the intense heat of Arizona summers. I tackle it with pots of water inside, and a fan going, side windows cracked, but I still have to glue down the laminate on a very regular basis. Any suggestions (other than taking it off my property and storing it in air-conditioned unit).

Build a lean-to, or awning and use a swamp cooler or a fan that also sprits mist.

I leave it on my stove, open the shower vent slightly, and use only when in storage. When camping we keep it stored under the bed.
