Does anyone have any opinions about Airstream of Chicago? To be painfully honest, my issues with my Basecamp are really due to the incredible ineptitude and incompetence at Ewald Airstream of Wisconsin. Ewald has turned molehills into mountains (my Basecamp came from Jackson Center in near perfect condition). For example, my perfectly functioning refrigerator will end up being SIX trips to Ewald due to their ineptitude in regards to my free refrigerator “upgrade”. I need to utilize a new dealer. Chicago is the next closest (two hour drive vs. 10 minutes to Ewald). Any thoughts?

In all fairness to each and every Airstream dealer, the Basecamp fridge may have insurmountable design flaws.

Ewald broke the thermistor in our refrigerator. Waiting for replacement part and then the subsequent install.

I hate to say it, but Popeye just said yesterday he was considering Ewald because he's not sure he trusts Chicago. This is based on conversations with service techs at both places, it seems he felt Ewald was more knowledgeable about his particular problem, or at least more honest and straightforward with him. We've not used either, we had JC go over our unit with a fine tooth comb because we bought it used (they found nothing significant, happy to say). Popeye fixed most things himself. Sorry I can't be of more help, I'll be following this.

I have dealt with both. I bought mine from Davenport by way of Chicago. Service has been good but a little $$$$.
Have had several friends that have also had service and MAJOR repairs done in Davenport. They were satisfied.

I recommend them (Davenport)
