A quick question: is the plumbing in a 16' Bambi set up so that you can divert gray water on its own into a portable tote tank, or are black and gray always mixed together?

Nope. Both are in one tank. Taking out any fluid will without question include some black tank stuff, unless you have not used the head.

Are we talking 1960s or 2000s? The 60s models drain the gray water directly, the black is held separately.

I would like someone tell me how the kitchen sink and shower are routed to the black water tank. The 20' Argosy I purchased doesn't have a tank at all and the drain pipes from the kitchen sink have been cut. There is no sign of a shower. How does the kitchen sink and shower drain find way to the black tank which will be above the floor? Or is it located totally above floor?

Bo, your Argosy never had a gray water tank. (It was built in the years before they became available.) The water from the sink and shower just dump out onto the ground; they don't flow into the black water tank. The only thing that goes into your black water tank is toilet water.
That was OK when campgrounds didn't mind you dumping water on the ground - not so much anymore. You can put a portable "blue boy" tote tank that connects to the outlet and collects the water.

mutcth -- I think you're closer to answering Bo's question than anybody else. Bo has asked this before. The top end '72 Excella 500 was the first with a grey tank. A few more '73s had them but they only became universal in 1974.
Does Bo or anybody with a transitional '72-73 have a manual? How about a scan of the page pertaining to the waste gate valves? Actual photos of the valve positions? Real life experiences?

Thanks for the information. Yes I have ask the question before. I think I ask for a lay out or routing of plumbing and electrical wiring. I got a drawing of electric from the forum but I can't tell much about it. I can't enlarge it enough to read it.
I thought I had read of someone running their gray water into the blank tank. But I don't know how they did it.
Also, I am not yet very good at finding what I need from the forum. As I plunder and blunder through it I think I'll get aquainted with it enough to better find what I'm looking for.
