Did you use a socket wrench because you didn't have a hand crank? My instruction book says one is provided, but I couldn't find it. I used a 3/8 inch socket extention. I put the female end over the 3/8 inch square shaft and used a cresent wrench on the male end to turn it. It worked, thank goodness, since we were many miles from anywhere where I could get it repaired.
