Wadestearns,

I suspect pretty much any trailer part supplier would work. Try eTrailer.com online, or "InlandRV" in Corona area. Or the local Airstream dealers.

Remember Google is your friend...

You are totally correct

Why can I find the parts that are needed online shipped via my preference.

I am in the most populated area of the US with over 5 Airstream dealers in the area. They said they could not find any of the break parts that I needed. I have a 2013????

This is a bad mark for Airstream service. I do not like it.

I wouldn’t throw Airstream under the bus on this. These are common parts not proprietary to Airstream. With the strength of the online economy many brick and mortar businesses simply do not stock much inventory. I’ve had great success with etrailer .

Airstream is not responsible for their dealers not having the parts. That said, the Dexter website shows about 6 Dexter dealers in the LA area. A bit of time on the telephone might find the parts near you. Those dealers should also be able to order the parts.

I had great success with a major wheel and break failure on the road with (and dont laugh) Redneck Trailer Supply. They have 20 US locations and will sell you the entire assemblies cheaper than the individual parts. Here is the one in LA area 11171 Venture Dr, Mira Loma, CA 91752

If this is an attempt to place an order, it's not how the internet works.

I was told by Airstream service that they were unable to locate these parts anywhere and it would take 2 weeks.

As you all indicted they are readily available all over the place. Not sure why one of the largest Airstream dealers in the country cannot find the parts.

I am at an Airstream dealer. They should know how to get the parts need better than I. Not the case. Once they provided me with the part numbers I can find them easily. Why can’t Airstream service do that instead of stranding me for two weeks. I’m not in the middle of the desert. I’m in Los Angeles.

Airstream dealer probably does not have stock of brake parts. I’d also bet you can find those parts a bunch cheaper than trying to buy them from Airstream.

Dealer competence varies wildly. That’s why I do my own work if at all possible. I’m sure I’m not the only one with that attitude on these forums.

All else fails, order the parts online, and have someone install them for you if you don’t have the tools or experience to deal with the repairs yourself. It’s how the world works at times...

Not really an Airstream factory issue. Blame the dealer.

Do you really not understand the difference between wholesale and retail?

Because he (eventually) states that it is an Airstream dealer that can't find the parts, not Airstream corporate. Is it an Airstream dealer's responsibility to drive around LA finding and buying parts at retail?

Yes...I spent 45+ years in service and did exactly that at the GM stores I worked at. When needed we did what was necessary...our CSI was a top priority.
It has been proven over and over that CSI means nothing at JC or the dealers. 😠

Consumable parts should be stocked as high priority items.
Instead I see Live Riveted lifestyle items.....fail to the Airstream owner!

I'm on the road full time... The last place I would go for parts is an Airstream dealer, unless my wine tumbler, or logo golf tee broke!

If you order the parts yourself you probably are going to have to put them on yourself.

The dealer is setup to put parts out of his wholesale supply system and makes money when he does that. Then there are warranty issues. Automotive repair places depend upon a huge local wholesaler to supply parts on demand. Probably the Airstream dealers are not linked in to that system and it might not include trailer parts. I know Dexter will wholesale the parts to a dealer but it probably takes a couple of weeks for that to happen.

What is actually wrong with the trailer? Is it mobile? Can you just fix what is broken to get going and then wait for the full rebuild? Have you tried Camping World? They probably have a pretty solid parts supply line if doing the repair.

Probably because dealers don't/can't purchase where you and I are able. They have their supply lines and that is it!
I've had to wait 5 days for a front caliper for my Dodge because they couldn't locate one in their supply chain. I spoke to Pep Boys after the fact, and they had one in the same city!!!!
Life...unfortunately
