Exclamation chevrolet HD owners check your brakes!

hey gang,

just a heads up for those of you with chevys with hydro boost brakes.

last weekend when doing my 3rd battery wiring project i noticed one of my hydralic lines to the brake booster was rubbing on my master cyl.

took it in to my dealer and had them reposition it. no charge under warranty.

you may want to pop the hood and check your rig if you have hydro boost brakes.

if this line had rubbed through i would have lost my brake booster, power steering and possibly had an engine fire from the oil that would have sprayed everywhere under the hood!

hydro boost is on 3/4 tons and up. i'm not certain if you chevy based motorhome guys have this or not. 1/2 tons are vaccum assist so you would not have this problem.

take a look!

john

Great info John...isn't it just like a Chevy.

When I got my Impala SS, it had a bolt lying in the truck when I first got it new.

I'm going to check my dad's Silverado tonight or tomorrow and let you know what I find.

Thanks for the info!

Eric

Bingo!

Thanks John! I spread the word around here at work and one of the guys had that problem on his. It was starting to rub through, so off to the dealer he goes. Others have yet to check, good idea to look as some of them are pulling 14K# 5ers! Thanks Again! Did the dealer mention as to whether they had a service bulletin out on them?

Hey Texass!

You pull the international with it??

I actually chickened out. I bought the SS new in '96 and bought a hitch. Got the hitch home had it in hand and looked at the car and said, oh no, I can't do that to this car.

So, went into the car museum (my garage) as my baby. I went out and bought a used '96 Caprice Classic w/ the LT1 and modded the rest of it out. The Caprice Classic is my workhorse!

Do you belong to impalassforum? If not, it is a fantastic resource for all B-Body cars, let alone the legendary '94-'96 Impala SS.

Do you pull your International with the stock SS rims?

My SS is a '96 DGGM
My Caprice "SS" is DCM (looking more like an SS everyday with all the mods I've been doing).

Regards,

Eric
