I removed my new st tires and went back to the 7.00x15LT bias 8 ply.I stayed w/carlisle and added steel high pressure valve stems....I seen a down load that told AS weights by year and model.And I cant find it now,does anyone Know. Thanks again Robert

Goodyear makes a big deal out of the importance of steel valve stems with tires rated 50psi and above. Seems like cheap insurance to specify this when you have new tires mounted.
I have the AS weights in PDF at home but still no internet connection following the big NW windstorm the week prior to Xmas. I can't remember which site has it posted but if no one comes up with the answer I think a google search with terms: vintage Airstream GVWR will turn it up.
What size load bars are you using with the CAT. Getting that matched properly with your HD suspension is critical to good towing performance

I printed out that weight chart but cannot tell you where it came from . '71 23' twin =3530# with 440# tongue wt.----23' dbl =3680# with445# tongue wt. , these are dry weight.
On the tire issue I have been using BF Goodrich T/A commercials in the 15" size . There are 2 in that size , 1 allweather tread and 1 winter tread . The allweather tread has a P designation + XL(extra load) , the winter tread has an LT designation , both specs are the same , basically C rated , which was original equipment on my '76 25 footer. One pair that I replaced had approx. 15000 mi on them . They were replaced because I discovered they were 18 years old . There was not a single sign of deteriation in the tread or sidewalls . I kept the tires in hopes of finding someplace to have them tested , I'm still not convinced that tires are only good for 3 or 4 years . Good luck with whatever choice you make .
Ive used the BFG all terraine T/A on the travelall for years ,a great off/on
road tire .They have 3 ply sidewalls ,where most radials have only two .Many
in the SB 4 wheel drive club ran these tires and they all were pleased with
how tough they were.These of course are not trailer tires but its good to see
that the BFG tires are working great on the trailers as well .BF Goodrich has
many excellent tire offerings .One all time favorite for years in the car /truck
hot rod community was the BFGoodrich radial T/A ,awesome performer for
years .Ive installed BFGs on most all my cars including the 95 impala ,but those are factory installed comp T/A tires .
I, too, read every post about tires in this forum in addition to talking to unbiased (pun intended) tire specialist. Everyone says about the same thing: Proper tire maintenance and driving safety seems to be key with any brand of tire.
I just purchased a set of 4 Carlisles (Load D) for my Argosy 24. Research shows to be more than enough. I will see if my fears are warranted, as well as the tires.
