what is this?

I am restoring a 1969 Overlander. It was pretty much gutted when I got it. I don't know what the little cover in the right hand side rear is for. Can anyone tell me what it did? It is about an inch wide and inch and a half long. Spring loaded and round at the bottom. I can't seem to attach a picture to this post

If you have a picture on your computer open the Reply box in this thread, type in your text copy. When ready for the picture click on the paper clip icon in the top row of icon above your text. When the paper clip has been clicked it will open a box that allows you to browse for the picture. Click on the first browse button it will open a second box that shows the file structure of your computer. Use it to locate the picture you want to post. Once you see the picture click on it and it will highlight blue. Click OK in that box and it will close automatically and load that picture location in the first browser row. Click Upload and you picture will added to your message when you click submit.

We do need that picture.

That spring loaded door is for your 30 amp power cord. It is like that so that your service center hatch can be installed while you are hooked up to shore power. Shore power can either be from a 30amp dedicated outlet at your home or at a 30 amp shore power mast at a camp ground. Hey welcome to the Forums, Ed

what is this

Hi thanks for the reply. It's not power plug in. It's only an inch wide. The cover is slightly larger than a quarter. It's the size of a Cablevision or speaker jack. And located on the curb side of the camper. It's up at window height. Mine was a rear bathroom model. I have a picture but it's on my phone not my computer. I am just not sure what would have plugged in back there that was that small. I will try to send it to my daughters computer and see if she can load it from there. I was wondering if any type of antenna rotater was plugged in there or something. The cover is old. It's made of pot metal and appears to be original.

Cablevision? Telephone?
What does the plug itself look like? Any wires attached on the inside--if so what kind?

It had two thin wires attached to the inside plug. I don't have the plug. The grandkids threw it away.
