What are the bracketd under our awning arms?

We have brackets mounted below the bottom of of awning arms. We cannot figure out what on earth they are! Anyone have any idea? It is a 1989 excella 29. We are stumped!

Does the awning canvas have 'snaps' where a mosquito netting made an enclosed screen room? There has to be a baffle to keep them from sneaking in under the trailer...

That looks to me like our ZipDee awning arms, and if that's what you have, on ours, there is a bracket something like that.

It is used to store the centre support pole when the awning is rolled up and put away.

But it appears that you have two; one in the middle, and another one at an end. If that is so, and yet you do have a ZipDee awning, I would suggest that some previous installation, perhaps a bug net or room, was done at some time to your TT.
