Question Scratch Removal

We are considering the purchase of a 2007 bambi that has a scratch on the exterior surface. The scratch is not deep but can be felt with a finger nail. There is no dent and the scratch may only be in the clear coat. Can this scratch be polished out?

Jim.

If the scratch is only in the clear coat, carefully polishing it may remove most of it.

However, if the scratch has gone thru the clear coat and into the metal, then there is no easy fix, short of polishing the entire trailer after all the clear coat has been removed.

A word of caution. "IF" when polishing the scratch you go thru the clear coat, then the polishing will change the metal appearance, very quickly.

It may be better to polish it by hand, and go from there.

Is it in a location where it would be possible to cover it with a vinyl decal or pin striping?

Jim & Sharon,
If you can be felt with the finger nail it needs attention. You can get a can of clear coat to fill it in and make her look nice again. Call the factory.
