Rub rail sealing

Ok, reinergirl helped me out on this, but I want to make sure I'm doing the right thing. I have mystery leaks. Does the rub rail need to be sealed all around? With vulkem?
Thanks!

Yes but the hard part is getting all the old gunk off first.

Lets look at this

What needs to be sealed here is not the rub rail...it is the bottom of the walls which is
underneath the rub rail. Take that rail off....seal the wall and floor interface, then reinstall the rub rail and then seal the to edge. For what its worth.....

I sealed under the rub rail where there are panel seams and on the top edge. Sealing the top edge should do the trick. I would not remove the rub rail to seal the edges of the panels unless you are already in there.
