Recommended Wax type & how often

We have a 2015 FC that we purchased approx 1 year ago - have washed many times & used some spray on wax but never a good paste wax. Suggestions on type of wax & how to apply?

Thanks,

Glenn

Glenn,

Many years ago, Airstream had a company come up with a very good wax (polish).

It's called Walbernize.

Part stocking dealers usually carry it.

Thumbs up Welcome Aboard....

Griot's One step...once a year, by hand and/or random orbital.

I've found all their products to be first rate....especially the microfiber towels etc.

The Mop-on-a-Stick comes in real handy.

Use the Car Wash on all our 'stuff'.

All of those are good suggestions, but I use the least expensive Turtle Wax with excellent results.
Wax with whatever product you choose.
Wax as often as you like.
I usually will wait until water stops beading.
Sometimes it might be 2-3 years in between till the water stops beading.

Our '10 FC has never been waxed and is washed 2 or 3 times a year. I washed it at a self-car wash 2 days ago after a long winter in the desert. The next day we pulled in to an rv park and a neighbor said, "wow! How do you keep that trailer so Shiney."

I have used Walbernize for the last 8 years when we bought our trailer (used) - I read about it at the time on this forum and found it for sale at Jackson Centre so I assumed it had thei4 blessing!

I generally wax it at least once a year, sometimes twice. Seems to do a decent job.

One thing I like about it is that even if you wax in sunshine - which I imagine you should not do - it still buffs to a good shine easily.

Brian.

What do you use to remove the old clear coat? Our '98 Classic (new to us) has some old clear coat that is coming off slowly and makes it look dingy. What's the quickest/best way to get that off? Thanks!

Andy,

Timely question as I just finished doing our 2016 International 30' this afternoon. For the clear coat finish I use Griots One-Step which I've used for years. It protects the surface, looks fantastic and lasts a year under normal conditions. Took less than 4 hours to go all the way around and the A/C hoods. My wife helped about an hour by doing the toweling. Could use the orbital, but with so many small areas to do, I just did it by hand. Still very easy.

It's called One-Step because it incorporates a polish and cleaner in the same operation so it removes any oxidation and/or previous treatments. I have been happy with this product for a long time.

Rick
