I use Griot's Paint Sealer. I think its important you don't use any abrasives with the new clear coat, the Walbernize has a sealer and an abrasive product, the One Stop from Griot's has an abrasive. I stuck with the Paint Sealer.

I try not to do anything to disturb the edges. Since they cut the metal and then do not recoat the edge, I try not to rub it in anyway that might weaken the remaining surface coating. When waxing I rub in a downward motion.

I have heard of Groit's, but not tried it. I have used Walburnize since new with good results in the Texas sun spring and fall. I use a heavy duty (there are 3 grades) spray bottle from Home Depot to apply the wax in about a three foot square, Than rub it out with micro fiber rags.
It also takes about four hours. So far, no corrosion.

Do all these products mentioned matter if you have an older rig or brand new one? Aren't the finishes different now than in the past? I know my rig is not super shiny like the older mirror finish rigs. Does it matter?

All of the products being discussed would apply to your 2016 AS.

Does the Griots One-Step harm the clear coat? My 2015 FC shows no sign of clear coat going bad.

I wouldn't think any wax/polish would harm the clear coat, especially if the trailer is washed first.
My 2013 has no signs of wear.
I wash with any car wash soap.
I have used Meguiar's Instant Detailer and Turtle Wax with excellent results- slick, smooth, shiny trailer-

The clearcoat would act the same as on your car. Honestly waxing the clearcoat probably lengthens it's longevity. No worries

Waxing a clear coat finish protects in many ways, bird dropping ,bug splatter, acid rain all of which damage clear coat finishes. It also protects it from the Suns damaging uv rays.
