Propane regulator

Hello,

I am brand new to the site, brand new to Airstreams, and brand new to trailer camping. I just bought a 1969 Globetrotter and I love it. The old man who had it before maintained it immaculately, but it does have an incredibly old propane regulator. I was thinking of taking it out this weekend but I'd like to replace that first just for safety.

Is there a particular regulator anyone prefers or works better? I have two short tanks, and all the appliances are still the 1969 versions.

Thoughts? I'd greatly appreciate it.

Just keep this in mind. If you change out the regulator you will have air in the lines and the following things to deal with.

The refig, heater, and some pilot hot water heater that have very small holes and thus will not purge off the air in one ignite cycle. You may have to crack the connection just before the gas valve on these till you smell gas to purge the air.
