Not at all. The all-white 80's look is definitely coming back. It provides a clean, uncluttered look. The pastel splashes just give it a bit of color but it's not a prerequisite to getting that 80's look. The dark wood trend of today (which was actually a return to the 70's dark wood style) is slowly going back out of style. White painted kitchens are in vogue again. Just as long as bleached white oak doesn't come back, it's ok.

It's a very odd thing that is going on. RareStream follows my posts only to demean each choice I make.
We must have a bigger truck than him or something, as I said it's very odd. Now back to the thread...

The walls were not originally stainless steel, they were that vinyl wallpaper bonded to wood. My brother fabricated those walls and also lined the shower with the same. It's not low maintenance. We use a squeegee on the shower walls after use and I keep a bottle of window cleaner under our kitchen sink to get rid of the kitchen sink splashes on the stainless backsplash walls.

It's definitely form over function in this case!

He must be bored and without an Airstream since he's called Rarestream. But your Airstream looks fabulous!

Well tomorrow's the day we drive out to P & S Trailer Service in Helena, Ohio to pick up our spiffed up Airstream. I can't wait! I'll be posting pictures of the end result.

P & S Has Made Us Shine!

Today we drove out to P & S Trailer Service in Helena, Ohio & picked up our Excella.
I will have to say they exceeded our expectations!
Besides the strip, Polish & re-clear coating they installed 16" Michelin tires & new aluminum wheels. The frame was also sanded & painted.
It's like having a brand new trailer.

3 Generations of Ruth's

I wanted to be sure to include a picture of 3 generations of the Ruth family that work together restoring Airstreams. The great grandfather who has since passed started the business in 1968.
They were a pleasure to work with!

Polished

Mary, Your trailer looks Fantastic! Just one question. You said previously that they were polishing and clear coating so does that mean you won't need to constantly be polishing it to get that great look again? Can you just Walbernize it after a good wash and have that same great looking reflective finish? Ed

This finish should last 10 years! I'll post a picture of the polish they gave us to use as soon as I retrieve it from the truck.

$8000 every 10 years does not sound like a good solution!

That's why our trailer isn't getting done until there is a shed for it. A friend of ours had his 77 model done about 10 years ago but he keeps it in a barn and it still looks fabulous.

911patriot - Your trailer looks first class!
