Hi Everyone: I'm a new owner of a 1969 Land Yacht. I would like to buy the following used original parts for it:

-- set of 4 hubcaps
-- roof cap / cover for original a/c
-- aluminum roof cap for gas stove vent

-- original owner's manual
-- original window shades and seat fabrics

thanks!

Welcome to the 69 club. Check online at vintagetrailersupply.com

That was were got my reproduction stove vent and plumbing stack covers. You will not find any used originals as they are plastic and don't survive 47 years of sun exposure to be removed without falling apart. What length is your 69?

I have 3 hubcaps I will sell for $30 each. We lost one on the road. They are in good shape.

Thanks --- mine is I believe an Overland model; 24 feet length; 27 including the hitch. I didn't realize that the original stove and refrigerator vent covers were plastic in 1969; were the a/c covers plastic too?

I'd be happy to buy your hubcaps --- how do I know they will fit? I think I have 15 inch, 6 bolt wheels.

thanks,

Eric111

You can get a manual from the mother ship. Fabrics are tricky. Nobody makes the Same fabrics used in a trailer from that year. You can, however, find fabrics of the era. It just depends how much you're willing to pay. I'd recommend you find Comtemporary fabrics to make do.

The originals were indeed aluminum, hard to find though. I finally found an aluminum stove vent on an Airstream that was being parted out locally. Don't give up, it my take awhile.

New fiberglass AC covers are available.

A used 46 year old plastic cover, would be extremely brittle.

Hmm neither of my 69's had aluminium vents and sure looked crappy enough for me to assume they were originals with no evidence of extra rivet holes from past replacement, but areowoods been at this longer than me...as for fabric I know for sure its original as I have seen it in a bunch of other people's 69 pics, when I get home I can take close ups of the original fabric in my 69 for you to try to get a close reproduction. Mines still soft and fully functional so I am keeping it in this restoration :-)

Oh and here is an aluminum stove vent from airstream supply. I didn't buy this one for mine as it didn't match what was on it but maybe its what is on yours, there could have been a difference between what was produced at the two factories....

Aluminum Stove Vent Cover

and a link to the photo archives that Vintage airstream has going...

Thanks again. Trailer was delivered today and it lost one of the three front light lenses that go above the "AIRSTREAM" letters. The remaining two lenses are marked "GROTE SAE P2PC75 TOP 9006 ". If anyone has one of these original orange lenses I'd like to buy it.

You can get them at most RV supply stores and even automotive shops.

Original manual was in the trailer!

I'm wondering if the profile of the original a/c that sticks up above the roof line could be lowered for better looks? And has anyone heard of a trailer with wheel skirts on it? I guess those would have to be custom made.

Curious also how many watts the a/c pulls, as well as the refrigerator? It's a lot of electrical work to get a 30 amp receptacle to near the trailer.

Thanks

I believe you will find your refrig. & stove vent covers to be fiberglass (plastic). I know the ones on my '69 are. The one for the stove is very different from those used on more recent models, in that newer ones are alum. and have a flap that opens when the range hood fan is turned on. If your's is like the one on my trailer, it appears as a horseshoe shape with the flap completely covered beneath it. The cover is open on the bottom side. The fiberglass refrig. vent cover looks much like those on newer Airstreams but, in measuring it I found it to be smaller in length than the newer aluminum version. I have heard of people cutting an alum. one down to fit and that maybe what you'll have to do. I am not aware of any reproductions being made of these covers, but maybe someone else has and will let us know. Good luck with your new project and keep us all posted on you progress.

I also would like to buy one or two original light switch knobs. They are round plastic and are marked: WEMAC . Also need an original control panel clock, or just the hour hand for the clock. Thanks!

Hey Eric111, I did a little research and found some vent covers that may work for you. Check-out Vintage Trailer Supply website. Looks correct if yours are originals.

1969 Overland

Thanks very much. Say, is there some sort of aluminum cap/cover for the a/c unit? Even if while it is not being used? The original a/c and a/c cover on mine look like a square hole was just punched up through the roof and this is not very 'finished' looking.

Also wondering if there is a power jack that is aluminum or stainless ?
