Need Paint

Hello,

I currently have a 1991 limited 34' in need of exterior restoration. No need for body work just the surface re-finished. I have talked to others about having it stripped and re clear coated. Like the idea of it being refinished like from the factory with fresh clear coat ,but not excited about it only having a short life span either with the cost of procedure. I have searched quite a bit and have not come up with anyone in my general area of west Houston,TX that clearly is familiar with stripping an Airstream and painting it properly as Andy used to do at his facility. There might be a facility located right hear in Houston that I just have not run across. I know some people frown upon painting ,but it seems to be the best solution for durability and also helping with minor leaks that you might not of even known existed. Have found a couple of places that do airplane restorations and I feel that they would do a good job. They also point out clearly that they have never worked with an Airstream makes me a lil nervous. Also thought of having it polished that also is not cheap and have to redo every year to maintain correctly. If I was fully retired that might be an option as I am not retired I do not have the extra time to polish. If anyone has any suggestions as to a facility or person familiar with stripping and painting properly please advise. I am not opposed to travel to correct place as soon as I get new axles and running gear under her I would travel all the way to Andy's if he were still overlooking the procedure. Am looking for a one time expense that will last several years to come. Thanks in advance for any helpful information.

I'm sure good aircraft painters could/would do a better job than any other paint shop you'll find in automotive/marine/transportation/RV industries.
Find a reputable place that has a nice portfolio of executive jet painting.
Don't be nervous if they paint $4mil Gulfstreams there.
