J hinge

Hello,
I am looking for a resource for J hinge replacement for the cargo door on my 1970 globetrotter. The current hinge looks like it has been bent and then bent back into position several times and is very thin. It looks like the same hinge that is on all of the windows.

Thank you in advance for any ideas.

K

It is the same hinge as the windows. However we used to flip the doors over and install them with a piano hinge. It was much handier that way. Also you couldn't drive away without the door.

My hinge looks the same way, bent and the rivets are loose. The hinge is available from Vintage Trailer Supply. Look under window hardware.

Do you mean a 'hurricane hinge? The teardrop trailer aficionados use them for their galley hatches. The are extruded and can be bought cut to size, up to 72" wide, but they may be available for even longer lengths.

go to tnttt.com and do a search.

J Hinge

Following DremStremer's suggestion, I revisited Vintage Supply. I did find a window hinge, no pics or much of a description. I am going to order a piece and will report back here if it is correct.

Thank you for your suggestions.

Where you able to get the new hinge to work?

Glad to hear it worked out for you. Now I know it will work on my compartment doors as well.

I wonder if you bought the last one Vintage Trailer Supply had? It has been removed from their website. I hope I can find another source.
