Have 9ft awning but my Caravel takes a 7ft

I bought a 91 Bambi that had rolled on the street side. Everything on the curb side is in great condition. I bought it because of the appliances but when I picked it up I noticed that it had a perfect zipdee awning.
My problem is on my caravel it only had a track for a 7footer.
Can I make this work or should I just sell and try to pony up for the 7?

You can cut the roller down & take the canvas to a awning shop to have it cut down too. It needs to be finished at the edge so it doesn't unravel. Typically, the fabric is cut with a tool that actually melts the edge so it doesn't unravel. If you don't think you can handle it, put me on your list for interested buyers!

Basic answer is yes, but you will have to have the main roller tube and the canvas shortened. Be very careful if you decide to dismantle the awning, there are a couple of tight wound springs in there that can take of a couple of fingers if you don't do it properly.
