Flag Holders

Where does one get the Flag holders you see on some of the Airstreams - usually in a tri configuration?

Lightbulb Just pulled out my Blue Beret...

In the classsifieds it states:

Miscellaneous

"12' Flag Poles Aluminum 1" diameter. Heavy duty holders for 1-3 poles. Price - poles $31.50 each, holders single pole $21.50 3-pole holder $29.50 plus shipping $6.00 per package. Order from POLE EASE, 9751 Rexford rd., Jackson, MI. phone 517-536-8022

We ordered ours over a year ago and have used them every outing...they are made well and have held up great....worth the money!

However, for the economically minded folks....We have seen some flag poles from light blub changing extensions or painter's extensions available at Home Depot for about $10.00 each. I suppose window washing or painting extension poles would work as well. They have used "D-rings" to attach the flag grommets to the pole. The top "D-ring" was attached to the pole through a hole drilled at the top and the bottom one was free-sliding. It really did do the trick & looked great! Sorry I didn't take any pictures to share....however, below is the pole holder on the front of our trailer.

Thanks for that info. Can I assume that the poles that are purchased from Pole Ease have hooks to attach to the flags, or do hooks need to be purchased separately?

Thanks

Flag Holders

The Pole Ease flag poles come complete with all necessary pieces (other than the flags). I have two sets - - one for the Minuet and one for the Overlander. The telescopic poles are light weight and quite durable - - mine have withstood having the flags raised for the VAC parades into five International Rallies and still function as well as they did when new.

The one thing that is not included with the holder is the attaching hardware. The ideal, at least as far as what I have been able to find, is a stainless steel muffler clamp that is large enough to fit around your rig's jack. Standard muffler clamps work, but do produce rust staining headaches.

Lightbulb Another attachment idea...

We have used a 1-1/2" "U" clamp and bolts instead of a muffler clamp. We painted them all with POR-15 to avoid the rust issue.

I believe the reason an attachment isn't included is that there are too many variables with jack configurations for a "one size fits all" solution.

Rust Prevention

Use stainless hardware where possible and powder coat anything and everything possible. Makes for easy clean up.

Nice flag holders

I am having heavy duty, 3 pole holders made, all aluminum and tig welded (will last forever) by a friend of mine that is a welder - and the total cost to you is $75, plus shipping. These have 1" holes and I use the 12' painter poles from Lowe's. These are heavy duty and very nice. I will take some pictures and post later. Thanks,

Rob

I WANT one!!!!

Rob -

Please add me to the surely growing list of folks that want the 'aluminum' version.

Tell me the amount (S+H) and where to send it.... Done.

Thanks for extending the offer to all of us with non-welder buddies...!

Rob,

Are you still having these made? I want one just like it. It looks stout and I like that. If you're not still involved in this stuff, can I buy a set of plans from you? I have a neighbor that would weld it for me.

If the plans are not available, I'll figure it out, but if they are it could make it easier.

I called Pole-ease, but he is no longer involved in selling pole holders.

All I know for certain is that I want one....

Thanks,

Dan

Made my own from supplies from our neighborhood hardware for a fraction of what some of you are paying. Mine holds 3 poles but more can easily be added.
Neil.

flag holder

robandzoe -

i will soon order a 5 hole flag holder from you folks.

the ones i've seen in the posts look great and the bungee cords i have been using are just not up to the task.

do you have any photos showing the difference between the 'patina' and the 'polished' holder?

is the holder in post '9' the patina one?

i'm getting a new black tongue jack and wonder if i should get one and paint it or leave it silver.

when i e-mail you, what info do you need from me in order to proceed with an order/

thanks in adance.
