Cleaning and polishing '64 Airstream Tradewind

any advice on using 3M Aluminum Restorer to hand polish an airstream that has had the full "treatment" about a year ago?

Ok, I can get a ROP. You think the 3M cleaner/polish is good stuff? I know it's not Nuvite, but those guys at 3M are prety sharp too. I just don't want to wreck the finish. It's pretty good now, got a few scratches and blemishes, but overall, oxidation is nill.

I attached the cut-sheet for the product. I am leaning toward Nuvite S w the dual-head buffer kit though.

Purple Polish looks like it would be great for the final-final pass. PP touts itself as no rub.

3M™ Marine Aluminum Restorer and Polish
That 3m is listed as a light abrasive , the nuvite s is not really an abrasive. Will depend on the condition of the aluminum.

There is a Polish called "Glare" that the Airstream Store in Jackson Center, Ohio has and I talked to Dave Schumann about using "Glare" on Vintage A/S restored railers and he recommended using "Glare Micro-Polish" also "Glare Spider Polish".....You can call Dave at the Airstream Service Center and also look it up in the Airstream Store.

The above link will get you to the Store.

Looks good, but if you want to get rid of the swirls - Nuvite 'S' & a Cyclo Polisher will be your best bet.

I have a decent variable speed polisher...uses mainly the wool type buff pads which did ok on some areas of my 66.
Can I use the sisal sewn or cotton wheels on this? I can get 8" sisal buff pads from Grainger. I want to try the black emery on some very stubborn filiform spots and scratches.
