Bullet holes! Help!

I've been polishing my 345 for days now. I stripped the back on Saturday. Today (Monday) as I was surveying the whole rig, I noticed two bullet holes (or apparent bullet holes) that were definitely not there on Saturday.

What should I do in the short run (it's raining here) to protect the insulation? I'm not near a big city.

I know I will have to consider various patches or fixes... read about moving logos, etc.

Thanks for any help.

You could cut aluminum tape to size and cover temporarily.(tough stuff at VTS)You need to stop robbing those banks!

aluminum tape, 1 inch. It sticks great and will even take the abuse of a polisher.

Cut out a piece of aluminum in the shape of the map of Texas, and rivet it on.

That'll warn them varmints t'stay away!

Was there bullet holes inside the trailer? Surely they didn't get caught in the skin- 2 you say- like buck shot or 9mm bullets? I think I would be pretty pissed off to find bullet holes in one of my trailers!! Any idea how all this happened?

What a way to start your day! You say you don't live near a city? Kids maybe? That would be expected in some cities but not in a rural area. I'd move the trailer around back to be safe.

actually country kids own and shoot off MANY more guns than city kids, that statement if far from correct. The police are always on the lookout for people shooting off guns. It was not that long ago that a woman in Maine was shot while hanging laundry in her own yard. A moose hunter left his glasses at home and took a shot at something moving on the other side of the trees. How many of you(I did for sure) went out with the Red Rider to shoot stuff in the woods? I have seen countless old cars with windows all shot out. Most likely was a pot shot from someone not thinking of all the ramifications of their actions. Aluminum tape will fix it up temporary and a small patch can be a badge of honor.

My pick up was shot last year during deer season . It was clear were the shot came from but the hunters denied it . 1200 dollars damage and it doesn't
look like the bullit hole stickers.

Our 345 got shot a few years ago while I was driving home from a trip. Looked like a shotgun slug tore a gash in the rear corner with a glancing blow. It was deer season.

The Insurance Adjuster asked if I reported it to the Sheriff and I asked which one of the counties that I had passed through did he want it reported to. They fixed it.

I would have called 911 and reported them, or take license numbers or back tag numbers and report them when I got back to town.

Sorry to hear about the holes.
Anyone that polishes their rig for days clearly deserves to enjoy the fruits of their labors, not the callas act of a vandal.

If, you can post a picture it would help in getting suggestions on how to best repair them permanently. Clearly any sort of tape will keep the rain out temporarily.
