This is from my 67 Overlander. Has anyone there done any frame repair work? I'm looking for ideas/suggestions on framework. More pics to come as soon as pop the shell off.

That is a pretty ugly frame. How bad is the rest of it and why did it rust so bad in that one spot? You might be able to patch it but you would probably be better off replacing that whole section. Getting it straight again might be a challenge.

You might check with someone who builds box or boat trailers and see if they will build you a new frame. When all is done, that might be the best thing to do. It looks like trying to repair what you have will only lead to more trouble.

What both prior posters said! You won't regret a new frame (and take pictures of it as you put the body back on, it will really drive up the resale price.)

Those were my thoughts as well. The Overlander sat on a farm with busted windows and vents for 30 plus years. That's why I decided to gut the whole thing and do a shell off restore.
My next task is to look for a trailer shop.

Thank you

A good welding shop could handle the duplication of your frame.

What did you end up doing?

May I ask your outcome on this frame? Ours looks to be in similar shape. I've got three welders scheduled to come out this week and look at it. We're going full monty so if a new frame is needed, so be it!

Would love to know your costs of repair/replacement too. We're in CA so not sure if rates will be comparable. So far I'm getting quotes of $65/hour in labor.

I'm thinking of becoming a welder ;0

Thanks!
