1 inch off and tree wins!

afternoon - just returned home from a week long boondock on Lake Okanagan - fantastic time. only problem was when we left i was negotiating an increasing radius turn inside a forest when i was 1 inch off and the rightside of the stream took a leaning tree in the rear awning support. ripped it right off. there was a small dent on the door side handle but nothing serious. could have been a lot worse but also an inch from nothing ... either way i am left with some damage.

the question is

1) any one know the best place near Vancouver BC to get this reparied - figure i will need a new awning and a patch where the top rear monted on the stream. might go through insurance if there is anything i missed, all though looks like it wasnt much more damage.

thanks to everyone. I love when i have something worthwhile to post here.

So sorry to hear this but don't worry, these things are built to be repaired and last forever!

I'd turn it in to insurance. I had a small mishap and hail and it was over 10 grand for repairs. My insurance co was great but now I have to decide when to have it done.

Thanks for the reply's i think what i will do is bring it to the shop and have them do an estimate and go from there - there is one "airstream" dealer in teh area - Traveland RV - i might try them, havent gotten any other info about repair facilities in the area (forum or google).

We had a coming together with an oversized Stop sign at a Park entrance. It scraped down the side of the Airtsream, caught the arm of the Zipdee, sprang back a bit and caught one of our end cap panels. We now how a scrape and a dent but the Zipdee was unmarked, thank goodness. I don't actually mind the dent, it's adding character, but I will get it repaired should we suffer an hail damage in the future. I noted with grim pleasure that the Stop sign was nicely bent and, having visited the park again recently, I see that the original outsized sign has been replaced with a smaller version; I'll bet we were not the only people to come into contact with it!

It happens. Just one inch and the jalousie window was toast.
