Should I cover the rear bumper plate

Just brought our 2007 25' Safari home and it does have the worrisome bumper plate. We are expecting rain and we don't have a canopy or anything for her yet. Should I cover this area with a tarp until we either get her in storage or purchase a canopy (may be a few weeks).

Just trying to protect our investment.

No need unless it has always been covered in the past and you don't know if it leaks or you definitely know it leaks.

It's my understanding that the preventative repair is fairly simple. Have you looked into doing it yourself?

just realized this thread is VERY old
