We Ordered That 2007 Safari SE LS!

Well after 11 months of daily research, we finally did it…
We decided to do our holiday shopping early and order that Airstream!

So here are the highlights of the order:
2007 23’ Safari SE LS with L-Lounge (and roll out dinette table)
LS Pkg includes 13,500 BTU AC and 1 Fantastic Fan
2nd Fantastic Fan ordered (for a total of 2 and dealer will install the reversible switch!)
Midnight Sun Interior with Graphite Counter Tops
Audio/Video Upgrade Pkg. with 19" LCD TV
Wireless External Speaker
Solar Pkg, (1 53-watt Solar Panel, 2 AGM Glassmatt batteries, Charge Control Display,
Plus and additional Solar Panel for a total of two panels.)
600-watt Inverter
Full Awning Pkg. (3 sides) – Charcoal Tweed
Equalizer 1000 lb. WD Hitch – Dealer will provide and install

Dealer said it was good to order now as prices are going up December 5th!

So now we… and the flamingos await the delivery!

Congratulations Bill! I'm sure this is an exciting time for you. And when aren't prices going up? Did they give an estimate of production time?

I'm wondering if 1000# bars on the Equalizer aren't a bit too much. You'll have plenty of time to mull this over before your dealer gets delivery and would actually install the WD gear. Airstream's website doesn't have this model's hitch weight but would look to be in the 600 pound range. I believe Silvertwinkie has noted how much better his ride improved when he dropped down from 1000# bars (and he has a 25' SS). Did he go to 600# bars? There may be an apple and oranges problem with this comparison because Twink uses a Reese Dual Cam (as do I) -- So I hope we get some Equalizer users reading if they're not in the kitchen...

An effective WD setup will have enough flex to force down the front & rear of your TV equally. This doesn't help you now, but before hitching one would measure to the top of the trim around your TV's wheel wells, front and rear. Then after hitching and engaging the WD bars, repeat that measurement to the same points. The amount of settle should be close to the same front and back. Now, is it fair to say once this has been accomplished that stronger bars only increase the harshness of the ride on the trailer? Anyone have a different take on this?

Congratulations, SilverGate! Let's see who gets theirs first! We just ordered one yesterday morning, 25FB SE LS, with micro/conv option. After much thought and staring at the brochure and pictures online for hours, we decided on the FB model. Even though it wasn't exactly what we wanted, it was very close and we thought it best to listen to all the experienced owners of 25 FB's. Thanks to all who responded to my posts. It really helped us make a decision.

Congratulations on expecting the new baby. The wait will be difficult, but worth it in the end, as you will be getting exactly what you want. This will also give you time to pick out an appropriate name for your 'stream. This will also give you time to "accessorize". That is the act of buying more stuff for the new Airstream than it is capable of carrying.

The wait begins; keep us posted.

We picked up our new 25' FB SE LS last Tuesday and I must say the quality control guys must have done their job this time around. Fit and Finish is vastly superior to F&F on our 2005 22' CCD. Don't know why the Safari line costs less then the Internat'l when the quality seems better all around!
Enjoy your new baby when it arrives, you won't be disappointed.

Estimated production time: 6 – 8 weeks…
Which is time needed for us to get organized and prepared!

Thanks for your concern re: Equalizer Hitch. Lots of info about it here on forums.
But the quickest answer is that the new 2007 Airstream Brochure states:
"Hitch Weight without options or variable weight for 23’ Safari SE is 600 lbs."
I’ve got a lot of options: Full Awning Pkg. (3-sides), 2 Solar Panels…
And those heavier 2 Glassmatt batteries…
Then hauling fresh water out for desert camping.
So I think I’ll go with the Equalizer 1000 lb. WD Hitch.
But I welcome the discussion… and will keep an open mind!

congrats Bill, I leave to pick up my 20'Safari SE LS on 12/5. Maybe we can have our own rally in the Cabrillo National Monument parking lot.
I also have a 600# tongue weight and was planning to go with the 1000# eqal- I- zer hitch. Is the coach length a factor or just tongue weight?

We have the 2006 Safari SE LS and love it. We have almost the same package but not the solar panels, and not the external speakers (I might have blown it there).
