Wardrobe door change

We've found that we don't use the wardrobe as such in our 25 FB. I always store things in there for the kitchen, so I turned the door around to open toward the kitchen and I love it. I now can put the trash can in there, since it's so convenient to open it from the kitchen.

That's an interesting adaptation, Teresa. I find that there is a lot of bin storage in the front bedroom area for clothing and other gear. Thanks for posting your idea.

Thanks! Will check it out, sounds like a good idea, especially since it makes an easy access to the trash can.

re:wardrobe door change

One thing I didn't mention is that the catch is the only thing on the door which can't be turned around. I was going to get some spacers so I could turn it around and screw into place, but after I placed it with double sticky tape and found it to be in the right position, I just used long screws and didn't overtighten them. It's very secure and works well. We also added an additional shelf using the top of the shower access panel as one of the ledges to rest the shelf on.

Read your thread and it took all of 10 minutes to do the conversion, including repositioning the catch. Thanks for the tip.

We have just returned from a 25 day, 6000 mile trip in our new FB. We found that Airstream did a fantastic job on this floorplan and our AS in particular.

However, WE did not get the convection/microwave instead of just an oven. We bought it off the floor, so no special items were added. That is our mistake.

We bought a small microwave for the counter, but lifting it from the counter to the floor for travel is a pain, and it does take up too much counter space.

So, your idea to switch the door. I think that we can switch the door and install a heavy duty pull out shelf on which to put the microwave, and pull it out while using it. Maybe even a pull out swivel shelf.

So, it looks like a visit to Home Depot is in order.
