The next morning I said hello to our neighbors, a family of squirrels, and walked down to the beach for a few more photos as sea gulls and pelicans flew overhead:
(BTW, I hope you are clicking on those pics to get the larger view!)
Then, another look at our recent interior improvements: the new bathroom mirror helps the area seem bigger and reflects the star/moon mirror across from it. The wood panel on exterior bathroom door now has a Bali mask and note the garlic roaster on stove that doubles as a tortilla warmer.
The ocean waves and breeze enhanced our relaxation and reading. While the sun worked to recharge our two AGM batteries via our two solar panels. By 9:45 a.m. each day our batteries were back up to 100%.
Marc -- Thanks for your comments…
If this thread is an inspiration to get out and camp again…
Well… I feel gratified.
This campground, San Elijo State Beach, is a 45-50 min. drive north on I-5 from San Diego, CA. and exit at Encinitas Blvd.
Randy -- The larger mirror (from Ikea) is secured with "Industrial Strength Velcro" (which uses Heavy Duty Adhesive) and is available at Home Depot in 4ft. x 2in. strips.
The smaller mirror (from a thrift shop!) is secured with "Sticky Back Velcro" also available at Home Depot in 15ft x 2in. strips. Thanks for your inquiry!
Well, we enjoyed our last beach outing so much that we decided to take advantage of another local and popular California state beach before it gets packed with summer tourists!
South Carlsbad State Beachis an hour’s drive north on I-5 from San Diego and features swimming, surfing, skin diving, fishing, picnicking, and bluff-top camping. Stairs and a ramp lead to the beach. http://www.parks.ca.gov/default.asp?page_id=653
This time we picked a wide site so that the curbside windows and door open toward the ocean which enhanced the views, breeze, sound of the waves, and privacy.
(Click on that last photo to enlarge it to see squirrel running along fence.)
The view from the L-lounge and door included frequently observing the many seagulls and pelicans that glided serenely by.
