And then time to light the charcoal and evening campfire as 15 pelicans flew by... (enlarge photo and count them)!

For dinner we enjoyed grilled steak, warmed tortillas, corn-on-the-cob and Trader Joe’s wine... which brought smiles to our faces!

Up early the next morning, I went down to the beach for more photos just as a large group of young students came by on a beach clean-up mission.

Our trailer is on the edge of the bluff, which is about half as high as our previous site at San Elijo State Beach.

Did you notice the colorful banner made by Larry incorporating an Aztec motif and clipped onto the screen door (which can be enjoyed while in and out of the trailer)?

While checking around outside trailer, I noticed some drops of water dripping onto ground below Vanity sink area. (On the previous trip I found water leaking from a loose white plastic knob behind commode which was easily tightened by hand.) This time water was leaking from hot water connection under Vanity Sink, which was solved by tightening the white plastic knob. BTW, thanks, lewster, for pointing out the importance of tightening these newer plastic water fittings only by hand, otherwise they could crack and/or leak more!
(http://www.airforums.com/forums/f446/leak-no-more-tales-toilet-zone-28588.html , post #12)

Under the Vanity Sink, I found 10 knobs that can be checked and tightened by hand (3 for the exterior shower, 2 for the hot and cold inlet pipes, 2 for the pipe connections to the faucets, and 3 on the drain pipe under the sink). BTW, to improve access and ventilation to this area, we removed the thin, wood back-panel and will attach a strip of nylon laundry netting in its place.

I have learned the importance of periodically inspecting trailer for loose connections, including the 5 knobs under the Lobster Sink (3 on the sink drain and 2 for the hot and cold pipes).

You're killin' me with all these great trips!

Fortunately we'll be spending some time at San Mateo campground in the lower half of June...
Gotta ask: what's that favorite mountain site you're headin to next?

Great tip on checking under sink areas! I'll be checking ours this evening. I like the idea of removing that thin panel under the vanity.

Cheers,
-jd.

Ol’ SilverGate has been spinning his wheels on that Equal-i-zer Question:
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f464/equalizer-question-32805-4.html

So he’s asked me, Diego Flamingo, to tell you about the trailer’s first wash & wax project after coming home from the beach...

Besides the salt deposits, the trailer is now 6 months old and SilverGate got to thinking about protecting that new beauty.

So, as usual, he searched the forums here on the best way to proceed.

It didn’t take him long to find out that 2air’ & others have had really good experience with the Meguiar’s product line:
SilverGate found 2air’s post #5 on the thread below to be most helpful:
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f441/order-walbernize-31480.html

And being a history buff, SilverGate also appreciated the Meguiar family legacy of making the best polish ever since 1901:
http://www.meguiars.com/legacy/

After a few phone calls to body shops, SilverGate found Meguiar’s Mirror Glaze – The Professional Polymer Sealant #20, M2016, 16 oz. for $18.99 and M2064, 64 oz. for $42.

Meguiar’s states that this is a blend of polymers, silicones and imported waxes that creates a high gloss finish that outlasts the others… and is safe on all paint finishes, including clear coats.

SilverGate also heeded 2air’s advice that a good wax job begins with a good cleaning, and consult your Owner’s Manual which gives detailed cleaning & waxing instructions!
